Information hosts provide

When you use Wishberry as a host, we may receive or store information necessary to create and manage your account and Wishberries, including:

• your name;
• your email address;
• information you provide about the birthday person;
• birthday and celebration details;
• gift information and external gift links;
• images you choose to upload;
• interests or descriptive information you choose to add; and
• other information you voluntarily enter into a Wishberry.

Please only provide information that you are comfortable sharing with people who receive the Wishberry link.

If you create a Wishberry for someone else, you are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate basis or permission to provide and share information about that person.

Sign-in

Hosts currently sign in using their ChatGPT/OpenAI account.

Wishberry uses the authentication information made available through that sign-in process to identify the host and provide access to their Wishberries.

Wishberry does not need or receive your ChatGPT/OpenAI password.

Your use of ChatGPT/OpenAI authentication may also be subject to OpenAI’s own applicable privacy terms and policies.

Information provided by guests

Guests do not need to create a Wishberry account to view a shared Wishberry.

When guests interact with a Wishberry, information may be provided or recorded in connection with features such as:

• RSVPs;
• gift selections or reservations; and
• other information a guest chooses to submit through the page.

This information may be made available to the host where necessary to provide the relevant Wishberry feature.

Shared Wishberries

Wishberries are currently link-only.

They are intended to be viewed by people with whom the host shares the unique Wishberry link and are not intended to appear in public search.

However, link-only access is not the same as password protection. Anyone who obtains a valid shared link may be able to view that Wishberry.

Hosts should therefore share their links thoughtfully and avoid including sensitive information.

Password protection is not currently available.

How information is used

Information may be used to:

• create and display Wishberries;
• authenticate hosts;
• save and manage gifts;
• provide RSVP and gift-selection functionality;
• maintain and improve Wishberry;
• diagnose bugs and technical problems;
• protect the service from misuse; and
• operate features requested by users.

We do not need to process the purchase of gifts listed on a Wishberry.

External websites

Gifts may contain links to third-party shops, charities, experience providers or other websites.

When you follow one of these links, you leave Wishberry. The external website may collect information according to its own privacy policy and practices.

Wishberry does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites.

Payments

Wishberry does not currently collect or process payments for gifts.

Purchases take place on external websites chosen or linked by the host. Payment information entered on those websites is handled by the relevant third party, not Wishberry.

Data retention and deletion

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain a Wishberry and its associated account functionality.

Hosts may be provided with controls to edit or delete their Wishberries and associated content.

As Wishberry is currently in beta, data-management functionality may continue to evolve.

Children

Wishberries may be created by adults for children.

Hosts should take particular care when adding information about a child. Avoid publishing sensitive information or details that are unnecessary for the celebration.

A child should not be required to create a host account in order for an adult to create a Wishberry for them.

Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information handled by Wishberry.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Hosts should use the privacy controls available to them and carefully consider what information they include on a shared Wishberry.

Beta service

Wishberry is currently in beta. Features, storage practices and functionality may evolve as the service develops.

Where a material change affects this Privacy Policy, this page should be updated accordingly.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Wishberry develops.

The latest version will be published on this page together with its updated date.
